Job summary

Henkels & McCoy West is seeking a Senior Proposal Manager to lead bid strategy and proposal development for projects across the West Region. The role supports the Project and Business Development teams and ensures timely delivery of compliant proposals.

The ideal candidate has 7-10 years of relevant experience, 5+ years in leadership, and strong writing skills, with familiarity in Procore, B2W, and P6; remote work option in Vancouver, WA or Portland, OR preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to write clearly and concisely.
• Experience as a proposal coordinator, technical writer, or similar in the AEC industry, preferably with a contractor involved in EPC or Design-Build alternative delivery methods.
• Experience with and knowledge of subcontractor bidding events.
• Proven excellence in technical writing and organization.
• Ability to collect and organize large amounts of information efficiently and promptly.
• Solid computer skills and proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Proven experience as a leader with a team of direct reports, especially in the construction arena.
• Moderately complex problem-solving skills and proactive motivation to use critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support bid, pricing, and proposal strategies.
• Define and implement RFP requirements and manage the proposal life cycle.
• Manage a medium-to-large-sized team of employees as direct reports.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on bid proposal and project planning.
• Ensure compliance with Project Management Methodology and safety/quality protocols.
• Apply branding and ensure one voice across documents.
• Mentor less experienced personnel.
