Job summary

Henkels & McCoy West is seeking a Senior Proposal Manager to lead the design, planning, and execution of proposals for projects in the West Region, with a preference for Vancouver, WA or Portland, OR areas.

The role requires managing the proposal lifecycle, coordinating with Project and Business Development teams, and mentoring a team of writers. Strong writing, leadership, and construction industry experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to write clearly and concisely.
• Experience as a proposal coordinator or technical writer in the AEC industry.
• Experience with subcontractor bidding events.
• Proven excellence in technical writing and organization.
• Ability to collect and organize large amounts of information efficiently.
• Solid computer skills and proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Proven leadership with direct reports in the construction arena.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, planning, and execution of proposals and Statements of Work for projects in the West Region.
• Define and implement RFP requirements and manage the proposal lifecycle (RFP to Award to Project Handoff).
• Coordinate bid, pricing, and proposal strategies across Project and Business Development teams.
• Manage multiple deadlines and documents to meet client qualifications and deadlines.
• Write sections of documents and apply branding and style guidelines for a unified voice.
• Interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery of compliant proposals.
• Mentor and manage a medium-to-large team of writers and proposal staff.
• Ensure compliance with PM methodology and safety/quality protocols.
