Job summary

Twilio is seeking a Principal Presales Engineer on its New Business Communications team to enable customers to build the future of communications. The role leads the technical pre‑sales relationship, designs architectures, demonstrates the product, and builds trust in Twilio solutions.

The candidate should be comfortable engaging a CEO or sketching an API flow for customer engineers, work autonomously, and collaborate with the Solutions Engineering organization and other Twilio teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years in a solutions engineering (presales) role or 10+ years in technical product delivery/consulting.
• Excellent communicator and presenter able to gain audience confidence.
• Engaging storyteller who can convey complex topics to diverse audiences.
• Ability to understand a customer’s communications needs and guide to a technical solution.
• Customer-focused problem solver balancing innovative tech with customer interests.
• Strong time management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with backend/frontend development and REST API design.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Account Executives to execute pre-sales activities including demonstrations, POC, RFPs, design docs, and enablement sessions.
• Lead technical discovery sessions to uncover needs and demonstrate capabilities.
• Build and present complex product demos to showcase Twilio capabilities.
• Establish yourself as a trusted advisor, introducing innovative solutions and architectures.
• Contribute to Solutions Engineering with reusable demos and materials.
