Intuit is seeking a Senior Payroll Tax Processor to join Payroll Tax Operations as a SME, leading complex notice responses and amended returns while mentoring less experienced staff. The role focuses on end-to-end resolution of payroll tax issues across notices, corrections and amendments.

The position emphasizes technical leadership, knowledge transfer, and process improvement to deliver accurate tax resolutions for customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Expert knowledge of State and Federal payroll tax notice types and penalty abatement.
• Experience preparing amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (Form 941-X, W-2c) across multiple states.

Responsibilities

• Resolve the most complex State and Federal payroll tax notices in the queue, owning the full case lifecycle from intake to closure.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns across 10+ states end-to-end, including reconciliation to originals.
• Diagnose and resolve payroll tax errors spanning multiple pay periods or jurisdictions and drive complete correction workflows.
• Maintain high productivity resolving Correction, Amendment, and Notice resolution requests with high accuracy.
• Monitor WIP daily; identify aging cases and blockers; propose resolutions to leadership.
