Intuit is seeking a Staff Payroll Tax Processor to lead end-to-end resolution of payroll tax issues across Notices, Corrections, and Amendments. This Senior SME role focuses on solving hard problems, building team capability, and improving processes for customers.

The role involves fixing tax problems rather than running payroll; filing amended returns, addressing state and federal notices, mentoring staff, and developing SOPs and KBs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years in payroll tax with tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Expert knowledge of state and federal payroll tax notices and responses.
• Experience preparing amended Federal and state payroll tax returns.
• Strong knowledge of FICA, FUTA, FITW and related payments.
• Advanced Excel for reconciliation and audit trails.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex payroll tax notices and amendments end-to-end.
• Prepare and file amended returns across 10+ states.
• Diagnose payroll tax errors across multiple periods and jurisdictions.
• Maintain high productivity in case resolution with accuracy.
• Coach and mentor Senior Payroll Tax Processors; share knowledge.
• Draft SOPs and KB articles; identify recurring error patterns.
