Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with focus on tax defect resolution for notices, amended returns, and payroll corrections across multiple states.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal payroll tax notice types; able to draft penalty abatement letters with supporting docs.
• Experience preparing/amending Federal (941-X, W-2c) and State payroll tax returns across multiple states including complex local rules.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex State and Federal payroll tax notices; manage full case lifecycle from intake to closure.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns across 10+ states, including W-2c and SSA reconciliation.
• Diagnose and resolve payroll tax errors across multiple pay periods and jurisdictions; drive correction workflow to resolution.
• Maintain high productivity in resolving corrections, amendments, and notices with high accuracy.
• Monitor WIP and identify aging cases, blockers, and known issues; propose resolutions to management.
