The role focuses on tax defect resolution rather than payroll processing, serving as a resource for colleagues and handling the most intricate cases. The position is an hourly, non-exempt role with 20–40 hours weekly, offering overtime eligibility and opportunities to coach junior staff while driving process improvements

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience focused on tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Expert knowledge of State and Federal payroll tax notices; ability to draft penalty abatement requests and agency responses.

Responsabilités

• Resolve complex payroll tax notices across multi-state scenarios end-to-end.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (Form 941-X, W-2c).
• Diagnose payroll tax errors across multiple pay periods; drive correction workflows.
