Job summary

Intuit seeks an expert Senior Staff Payroll Tax Processor to own complex multi-state tax notices, amendments, and corrections. You will lead end-to-end case resolution, file amendments, and mentor junior staff while driving process improvements.

The role emphasizes resolving tax defects, collaborating with Corrections, Amendments, and Tax Notice teams, and coaching teammates to build capability. This is a remote, hourly position with overtime eligibility.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with a focus on tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Expert knowledge of State and Federal payroll tax notices; able to draft penalty abatement requests and agency responses.
• Experience preparing amended Federal (Form 941-X) and State returns across multiple states.
• Deep knowledge of FICA, FUTA, FITW, and tax deposit schedules; payroll tax regulations.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex State and Federal payroll tax notices end-to-end, including multi-quarter/state scenarios.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns across 10+ states.
• Diagnose and resolve payroll tax errors spanning multiple pay periods or jurisdictions.
• Maintain high productivity in resolving Corrections, Amendments, and Notice resolutions with accuracy.
• Monitor WIP, identify aging cases and blockers; propose root-cause solutions.
• Serve as real-time resource for Senior Processors; mentor teammates on resolution processes.
• Conduct quarterly coaching sessions using SBIC feedback; adjust frequency for learning gaps.
• Contribute to team huddles, QA sessions, and process meetings.
• Author/update SOPs and Knowledge Base; identify recurring errors and drive action.
• Identify trends and compliance issues; communicate findings and drive resolutions.
• Support cross-functional collaboration with Corrections, Amendments, Pay & File, and Tax Notice teams.
