SelectTime is seeking a Lead Tax Processor to act as a technical SME within Payroll Tax Operations. The role focuses on resolving the most complex tax issues, authoring SOPs, and coaching peers to elevate team capability in a flexible, hour-based setting.

You will own governance of standards, lead structured coaching, and provide data-driven risk insights while maintaining strong compliance across US jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years payroll tax experience with complex defect resolution.
• Experience as lead/SME with coaching junior staff.
• Expert knowledge of US payroll tax regulations across jurisdictions.
• Proven ability to author and approve SOPs and technical docs.
• Ownership of SLA metrics with proactive workflow improvements.
• Problem-solving mindset with validated solutions.
• 5+ years handling escalations independently.
• 4+ years in contact center or back-office operations.
• Comfort with using AI tools to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Be the real-time go-to technical expert for TP1-TP3 staff.
• Own SOPs and KB articles through authoring and approval.
• Coach team quarterly using SBIC feedback model.
• Lead team huddles and back-up Daily Stand-Ups.
• Oversee WIP, backlog, aging reports and staffing guidance.
• Resolve severe payroll tax notices and IRS issues.
• Approve complex amended Federal and State returns with audit trails.
• Identify trends and risks; report with data-driven actions.
• Represent team in cross-functional meetings and advise on risk.
