Intuit’s SelectTime team seeks a Lead Tax Processor and SME to drive complex payroll tax issues across U.S. jurisdictions. You will own SOPs, KB articles, and provide formal coaching to build team capability while handling the most challenging escalations.

In this part-time hourly role you’ll collaborate with cross-functional partners, review regulatory notices, and ensure audit trails. Flexible schedule plus overtime eligibility reflects tax proficiency and leadership expectations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years payroll tax experience with complex tax defect resolution and multi-state amendments.
• Experience as lead, senior specialist, or SME with coaching/mentoring junior staff.
• Advanced writing skills for SOPs and technical documents for a tax processor audience.
• Ownership of SLAs; identify red flags and remove workflow barriers.
• Validation-first mindset; present vetted solutions to leadership.
• 5+ years handling highly sensitive escalations with minimal leadership guidance.
• 4+ years in contact center or back-office operations for high-volume service needs.
• Comfort with leveraging AI tools to improve team workflows.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the primary real-time go-to technical expert for TP1, TP2, and TP3 staff, answering complex questions and teaching resolution paths.
• Own the authoring, technical review, and formal approval of SOPs and KB articles.
• Conduct structured coaching sessions at least quarterly with assigned team members using the SBIC feedback model.
• Lead or contribute to team huddles, group QA sessions, and performance board updates; backup Daily Stand-Ups when the M1 manager is unavailable.
• Maintain oversight of team WIP, backlog, and aging reports; recommend staffing adjustments to the M1 manager.
• Resolve the most severe payroll tax notices in the queue, including IRS/state issues across jurisdictions.
• Approve highly complex amended Federal and State returns with audit trails.
• Identify systemic trends and Known Issues; communicate findings with data-driven responses.
• Represent the team's perspective in cross-functional meetings with a compliance focus.
