Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC International seeks an experienced Senior Construction Underwriter-Middle Market Focus to develop and manage a profitable E&S construction book. You will actively market to brokers, build relationships, and independently grow an assigned territory in a remote setting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of E&S construction underwriting experience and a track record of managing larger contractor accounts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of E&S construction underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting middle-market construction accounts.
• Ownership of a sizeable book of business, ideally $3M–$5M+.
• Experience marketing to brokers and developing business relationships.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and renewal policy applications, assess risk, pricing, and endorsements.
• Respond to broker inquiries within designated timeframes as an underwriting resource.
• Create and maintain required documentation for new/renewal files and worksheets.
• Adhere to underwriting authority directives and company policies.
• Approve/deny within authority or escalate as needed.
• Cultivate relationships to facilitate underwriting and business development.
• Support team with underwriting procedures and guidelines.
