Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC is seeking an experienced E&S Construction Underwriter to develop and manage a profitable middle-market construction book. The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of E&S construction underwriting experience, with success underwriting larger contractor accounts and owning a meaningful book of business.

You will work with minimal supervision, evaluate applications, classify risk, set pricing, and maintain all underwriting documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years underwriting E&S construction business.
• Experience with middle-market contractor accounts.
• Ability to work independently and manage a territory.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite middle-market E&S construction accounts with focus on profitability.
• Classify risk, determine acceptability, assign rating and pricing.
• Maintain documentation for all new and renewal files.
• Coordinate with brokers and respond to inquiries within timelines.
• Adhere to underwriting authority, guidelines and company policies.
• Support other staff with underwriting procedures and guidelines.
