Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC International is seeking a Senior Construction Underwriter to develop and manage a profitable middle-market construction book. You will market to brokers, grow a regional book, and operate with minimal supervision to deliver sustainable profitability.

The role requires at least 5 years in E&S construction underwriting and a strong production mindset. Remote work is supported with territorial focus and ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years E&S construction underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting middle-market construction accounts.
• Ownership of a sizeable book of business, e.g., $3M–$5M.
• Experience marketing to brokers and developing relationships.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and renewal policy applications, classify risk, price, and endorse appropriately.
• Respond to broker inquiries within designated timeframe as underwriting resource.
• Maintain bound files and underwriting documentation per guidelines.
• Adhere to underwriting authority directives and policies.
• Approve/deny within authority or escalate as needed.
• Cultivate internal and external relationships to facilitate underwriting.
• Support colleagues with underwriting procedures and guidelines.
