Tokio Marine HCC International is seeking an experienced Senior E&S Construction Underwriter for a remote, middle-market book. The role emphasizes profitable growth, complex contractor accounts, and ownership of underwriting decisions.

The candidate should have 5+ years in E&S construction underwriting, experience with middle-market accounts, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision while adhering to company guidelines and risk assessment standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years underwriting E&S (Excess & Surplus) construction business.
• Experience underwriting middle‑market construction accounts.
• Ability to work independently and build a territory with minimal supervision.
• Must understand and manage larger, more complex accounts.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and renewal policy applications and related documents to classify and assess risk, determine acceptability, assign rating, endorsements and limits, and determine pricing.
• Communicate with brokers within designated timeframe to provide information and underwriting support.
• Create and maintain binding files and underwriting worksheets.
• Adhere to underwriting authority directives and company policies.
• Assist other staff with underwriting procedures and guidelines.
