Tokio Marine HCC is seeking an experienced E&S Construction Underwriter to develop and manage a profitable middle-market construction book. The remote role covers an assigned territory, with strong focus on broker relationships and new business development.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in E&S construction underwriting, a proven track record with mid-market accounts, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision while delivering profitable growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or the equivalent education and/or experience.
• 5 years of relevant and progressive middle market contractors E&S professional experience.
• Preferred: studies toward RPLU, CPCU, AU, CIC or equivalent designation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and renewal policy applications and related documents to classify and assess each risk, determine acceptability, assign rating, indicate endorsements and limits, and determine appropriate pricing.
• Contact and respond to inquiries from brokers within designated timeframe to provide information.
• Create and maintain all documentation for new and renewal bound files and underwriting worksheets.
• Adhere to underwriting authority directives, guidelines, and policies.
• Approve or deny within given authority or escalate to higher authority.
• Cultivate relationships to facilitate underwriting process and business development.
• Develop understanding of factors affecting policy rating and risk.
