The ideal candidate has 5+ years in E&S construction underwriting, with a track record underwriting larger, more complex contractor accounts and building a meaningful book of business.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of E&S construction underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting middle-market construction accounts.
• Proven ownership of a sizeable book of business ($3M-$5M+).
• Ability to market to brokers and develop business relationships.
• Strong independent work capability with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and renewal policy applications and pricing.
• Respond to broker inquiries within designated timeframe.
• Maintain documentation for new and renewal files.
• Follow underwriting guidelines and authority directives.
• Approve/deny within authority or escalate.
• Build relationships to facilitate underwriting and business development.
• Support other staff with underwriting procedures.
• Develop understanding of factors affecting policy rating.
