Job summary

Leidos Inc. is seeking Senior & Lead Transmission Line Engineers for electric transmission projects on HV and EHV systems. Roles involve applying NESC/ASCE standards, reviewing designs, and preparing construction documents.

Positions are fully remote within the United States, with MT-friendly hours to support project teams and clients. Ideal candidates hold a civil or mechanical engineering degree with 4+ years (senior) or 8+ years with 2+ years leadership (lead).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering with 4+ years in electric utility transmission design.
• Lead level requires 8+ years with 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience reviewing transmission line designs (PLS-CADD, foundations, materials, plans) and preparing packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, and related codes and procurement process.
• Ability to work in a team and independently, with client interface and travel up to 10–15%.

Responsibilities

• Design HV/EHV transmission lines for overhead and underground systems.
• Apply standards, perform analyses, draft plans, specs, and procurement docs.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
• Coordinate with clients, planners, environmental, permitting, and construction teams.
• Lead project teams and mentor junior staff (Lead level).
