Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to design HV/EHV transmission systems, applying NESC and ASCE standards and leading a multi-person team. You will review designs, prepare bidding documents, and interact with clients and project teams, possibly traveling for on-site work.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and 4+ years of experience in electric utility transmission, with proficiency in PLS-CADD, POLE, and Office software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and at least 4 years of transmission design experience.
• Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, materials, plans and profiles.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC and ASCE code requirements; procurement, schedules and work packages.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and also independently; leadership experience for Senior/ SME level.
• Travel may be required; client site work possible.
• Program expertise: PLS-CADD and POLE; Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Apply standards to overhead and underground transmission system design.
• Perform engineering analyses and prepare bidding, design, and construction documents.
• Interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting and construction management teams.
• Lead and supervise project staff where required.
