Job summary

Leidos Inc. seeks Senior and Lead Transmission Line Engineers to design HV/EHV transmission systems for major utilities. Remote work within the U.S.

(MT alignment preferred) with opportunities across multiple positions. You will prepare plans, specs, procurement packages and coordinate with clients and internal teams. Bachelors in civil or mechanical engineering required; mid-level 4+ years, lead 8+ years with 2+ years leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering with 4+ years of experience in electric utility transmission design.
• Lead level requires 8+ years with 2+ years of leadership, mentorship, or supervisory experience.
• Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models and construction packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, ASCE; construction specs; procurement; schedules; and work packages.
• Ability to work in a team and also independently; travel up to 10–15%.

Responsibilities

• Design electric utility transmission systems for HV and EHV overhead and underground.
• Prepare bidding documents, plans, specifications, material procurement and construction packages.
• Interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting and construction management.
• Lead project teams and mentor junior staff; develop project scopes and budgets.
• Communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
