Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to support US Coast Guard infrastructure modernization, leading complex network refreshes, OOB deployments, and VSAT transitions. The role is fully remote, with coordination across stakeholders, engineering teams, field technicians, and vendors.

You will oversee end-to-end planning, scheduling, risk management, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring adherence to SLAs and federal standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 12+ years of IT project management experience.
• Certifications: PMP or federal PM certification.
• Experience managing large federal contracts or enterprise IT deployments (DoD/DHS/USCG).
• Experience deploying OOB management architectures for remote networks.
• Strong satellite communications knowledge including legacy VSAT transitions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to executive stakeholders.
• Proficiency with MS Project, Excel (advanced), and PMO tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple parallel IT infrastructure projects from initiation through closure.
• Define scope, WBS, schedules, and manage critical paths.
• Identify and mitigate technical, logistical, and timeline risks; develop contingency plans.
• Primary contact for USCG leadership, leads, and vendors; ensure SLAs and timelines.
• Manage budgets, expenditures, and procurement workflows for global hardware.
• Coordinate network engineers, field technicians, and security teams across sites.
• Quality-check all deliverables and Monthly Status Reports (MSRs).
• Drive IT PMO best practices aligned with federal standards.
