Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead complex infrastructure modernization for the U.S. Coast Guard in a fully remote role. You will drive multi-project execution, coordinate with federal stakeholders, vendors, and field teams, and ensure milestones align with military standards.

You will manage budgets, schedules, and risk while delivering high-availability networks and modernized hardware across Coast Guard sites, reporting to the PMO and executives with clear status updates.

Qualifications

• PMP or equivalent federal PM certification is required.
• Experience managing large-scale federal contracts or enterprise IT infrastructure deployments (DoD/DHS/USCG).
• Experience deploying Out-of-Band (OOB) Management architectures (Opengear, Perle, Cradlepoint) for remote networks.
• Strong understanding of satellite communications and legacy VSAT transitions.
• Excellent communication skills with executive stakeholders; able to brief complex deployments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Excel and PMO tools for tracking schedules and performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute multiple IT infrastructure projects from initiation to closure.
• Define scope, create WBS, maintain schedules, manage critical paths.
• Identify and mitigate risks; develop contingency plans to minimize downtime.
• Serve as primary POC for USCG leadership and vendors; ensure SLAs and timelines.
• Manage budgets, expenditures, and procurement workflows for global hardware/services.
• Coordinate engineers, field technicians, site readiness, and security across deployments.
• Quality-check all deliverables, documentation, change tickets, and MSRs.
• Drive IT project management best practices aligned with federal standards.
