Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead critical infrastructure modernization for the U.S. Coast Guard.

This fully remote role requires coordinating with federal stakeholders, vendors, and field teams to deliver network refreshes and VSAT replacements while meeting stringent schedules and regulations. Responsibilities include end-to-end project leadership, risk management, budget oversight, and ensuring quality deliverables across multiple parallel initiatives.

Qualifications

• PMP or equivalent federal PM certification.
• Experience managing large-scale federal contracts or enterprise IT deployments (DoD/DHS/USCG).
• Experience deploying OOB management architectures (Opengear, Perle, Cradlepoint).
• Knowledge of satellite communications and legacy VSAT transitions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with executive stakeholders.
• Proficient in MS Project, Excel and PMO tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning and delivery of complex IT infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate with USCG stakeholders, engineering teams, and vendors.
• Define scope, create WBS, and manage schedules to prevent bottlenecks.
• Identify risks and develop contingency plans to minimize downtime.
• Ensure adherence to SLAs, budgets, and federal regulations.
• Manage procurement workflows for global network hardware and services.
• Oversee deliverables, change tickets, and monthly status reports.
• Drive efficiencies aligning deployments with standards.
