UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Senior Inpatient Medical Coder for a fully remote role. You will encode inpatient hospital claims, ensure DRG accuracy, and maintain compliance with AHIMA/AAPC guidelines. Strong trauma center experience and ICD-10-CM/PCS expertise are required.

You will train in a virtual setting, collaborate with the coding team, and support providers through documentation feedback and queries. The position emphasizes high-quality coding and productivity in a remote environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Acute Care inpatient medical coding experience.
• 2+ years in a Level 2 or higher trauma center with complex procedures.
• 2+ years of ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG coding experience.
• AHIMA/AAPC coder certification to be maintained annually.

Responsabilités

• Identify appropriate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient services and assess impact on DRG.
• Abstract additional data elements during chart review as needed.
• Provide documentation feedback to providers and query physicians when appropriate.
• Maintain up-to-date Coding knowledge and participate in department meetings.
