Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Senior Inpatient Facility Certified Medical Coder for a remote role. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient services, ensure DRG accuracy, and maintain coding quality and productivity. 4 weeks of virtual training will be provided.

The role requires AHIMA/AAPC credentials, 3+ years inpatient coding, and experience with trauma center coding. Telecommute from anywhere in the U.S. Competitive benefits and sign-on bonus for external applicants.

Qualifications

• Professional coder certification with AHIMA and/or AAPC to be maintained annually.
• 3+ years of Acute Care inpatient medical coding experience in hospital/ facility.
• 2+ years in Level 2+ trauma center/teaching hospital with complex case coding.
• 2+ years of ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify correct ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient hospital services.
• Abstract data elements during chart review as needed.
• Provide coding feedback to providers and query physicians when appropriate.
• Maintain up-to-date coding knowledge and participate in department meetings.
