Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a qualified inpatient coder to join the 10407 Enterprise Revenue Cycle team. This full-time role involves coding complex inpatient cases using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS, with emphasis on accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Required credentials include AHIMA or AAPC certification and an Associate’s degree in Health Information Management or related field. Remote work is possible within approved states.

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in ICD, CPT and HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Maintain high productivity and quality standards (DNFB) and adhere to policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with CDI and Quality teams to align DRG and Medicare case reconciliation.
