ABB is seeking a Senior Technical Business Developer to lead the expansion of its Grid Automation portfolio in the U.S. market.

You will bridge advanced grid technologies with a focused market strategy, driving growth through utility customer and partner engagement, and solution development. The role reports to the Product Marketing Director and requires deep SME-level technical engagement, presales leadership, and active participation in standards work with IEEE/IEC 61850.

Qualifications

9+ years of experience in technical business development, preferably in grid automation or power systems.
Deep understanding of U.S. utility market dynamics and standards (IEEE, IEC 61850).
Experience with SaaS or subscription-based business models in energy.

Responsibilities

Lead U.S. growth by identifying utility/industrial opportunities and shaping market penetration strategy.
Act as grid automation SME, lead presales technical activities, and support solution design across architectures.
Contribute to standards work (IEEE/IEC) and represent ABB in industry forums to influence interoperability.
Build strategic partnerships and channel field insights to evolve offerings like Grid components and related products.
