Job summary

ABB in the United States is seeking a Senior Technical Business Developer to expand the Grid Automation portfolio. This remote role focuses on market entry strategies, utility/customer engagement, and partner collaboration to drive growth in the U.S.

You will lead presales technical activities, support solution design across architectures and protection systems, and contribute to standards work with IEEE/IEC while advancing offerings like SSC600, SMU600, and CogniEN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
• 9+ years of experience in technical business development in grid automation or power systems.
• Deep understanding of U.S. utility market dynamics and standards (IEEE, IEC 61850).
• Experience with SaaS or subscription-based business models in energy.

Responsibilities

• Market strategy leadership for U.S. growth in grid automation and utilities.
• Lead presales technical activities, solution design across architectures and protection systems.
• Contribute to vPAC and IEEE working groups, shaping standards and interoperability.
• Build strategic partnerships and represent ABB at industry forums.
