Job summary

Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff Field Engineer to support strategic Grafana Platform engagements from a fully remote global team. You will share SME expertise, craft demos and training assets, and guide Solution Engineers through complex customer programs.

You will architect scalable POV and demo environments, influence product direction, and mentor engineers while collaborating with Product and Enablement teams to align with the roadmap.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of technical experience, including 2+ years as Senior Field Engineer or equivalent.
• Excellent Grafana knowledge with SME depth in at least one area of the Grafana Platform.
• Expert-level knowledge in an adjacent domain (IoT, AI/ML) beyond observability stack.
• Created or maintained at least one product training asset adopted by the field.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Product Management and Engineering on enablement content.
• Comfort with at least one modern programming language and SDLC basics.
• Linux proficiency and comfort with common tools.
• Experience using AI tooling to generate/review code while owning final quality.
• Ability to architect modern apps on cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP) with Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
• Track record delivering technical content (workshops, demos, POVs) for technical audiences.
• Strong understanding of the sales process in complex, strategic cycles.

Responsibilities

• Advise on strategic Grafana deals with Solution Engineers and Observability Architects with minimal supervision.
• Serve as SME in Grafana Platform and build reference architectures.
• Craft and deliver value-based stories to help close deals technically.
• Own creation and curation of technical training content and workshops.
• Architect and maintain live demo/POV environments at scale for reliability and security.
• Influence product direction and surface enablement gaps for roadmap planning.
• Present at Strategic Marketing events as Grafana ambassador.
• Provide guidance and best practices to Solution Engineers and customers.
• Improve product documentation and contribute white papers/blogs.
• Mentor Senior/Staff Solution Engineers and Field Engineers.
