Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Director of Business Development for Dedicated Transportation in Phoenix. The role leads pursuit of new business, coordinates the complete sales cycle, and drives cross-functional deal strategy, pricing, and value messaging.

A quota will apply, with emphasis on new contracts and solution selling. Responsibilities include team leadership, negotiation, and transitioning accounts. Travel is expected 40–50%, with remote work options only as noted.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or related field.
• MBA preferred business administration (MBA).
• Five (5) years or more sales experience with quota attainment; three years at quota and two years at 75% of quota.
• Five (5) years or more in selling supply chain solutions and/or achieve quota attainment more than 3 times within a 60-month period.
• Understanding of services, costs, pricing and value; expert level.

Responsibilities

• Lead deal pursuit and create deal and pricing strategy.
• Plan proposals and attack; manage cross-functional pursuit teams.
• Prospect new brands and build pipeline; explore cross-sell opportunities.
• Negotiate contracts and close deals; provide continued commercial support on accounts.
• Transition new accounts and manage post-sale opportunities as directed.
