Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Configuration Analyst for a remote role supporting the Veterans Affairs department. The role focuses on software configuration management, release engineering, and automation across flexible environments.

Candidates should have extensive CM expertise, federal/regulated experience, and leadership skills. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience, with a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading software builds and releases across multiple environments.
• Experience in regulated or federal environments is preferred.
• Deep expertise in software configuration management and release engineering.
• Knowledge of development, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps practices.
• Proficiency with CM practices and source control systems.

Responsibilities

• Support VA applications and cloud migration.
• Develop and maintain CM tools for identification, control, reporting, and delivery of software and COTS.
• Perform CM and release tasks to ensure documented, compliant build parameters.
• Design, automate, and maintain tools to improve software modeling and development.
• Create build procedures to support product development and usage.
• Develop CM standards for company-wide use.
• Train developers in CM tools and quality practices.
• Provide technical guidance for complex problems.
• Operate autonomously and meet deadlines while collaborating with stakeholders.
• Lead and mentor junior analysts/engineers in CM best practices.
