Remote Security Leader — Arctic Field Operations

Job summary

NANA Management Services is seeking a Remote Security Captain to lead security operations at a Kuparuk field site. You will supervise security personnel, ensure policy and contract compliance, and maintain strong client relationships while protecting personnel and critical infrastructure.

The role requires extensive security experience, Alaska licensing, and the ability to work in a remote, two-weeks-on/two-weeks-off rotation, including possible on-call duties and incident response in Arctic

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of post-secondary education preferred; otherwise two years of related security/military experience.
• Minimum of ten years of full-time security, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Minimum of five years of supervisory/leadership experience.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Ability to obtain Alaska Guard License prior to employment; responsible for fees.
• Must obtain State of Alaska Armed Guard License upon hire.
• Experience developing and delivering security training in contract settings.
• Familiarity with Incident Command System (ICS); FEMA/NIMS coursework preferred.
• Ability to qualify for credentials such as TWIC and ATF Explosives Possessor as contract requires.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and contract-specific software.

Responsibilities

• Assign personnel to posts and patrols, ensuring staffing and coverage.
• Supervise daily security operations in line with client requirements and post orders.
• Enforce security policies and contractual requirements.
• Develop understanding of client needs and document processes.
• Translate requirements into operational procedures and maintain documentation.
• Prepare work schedules and approve leave requests.
• Maintain communications with clients to enhance service delivery and relationships.
• Review and investigate incident and irregularity reports; take corrective action.
• Complete administrative records and reports; oversee security investigations.
• Coordinate with client reps, law enforcement, emergency responders, and regulators.
• Maintain post orders, emergency procedures, and related documentation.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents outside hours.
• Serve as Incident Commander as needed; manage emergencies per ICS.
• Provide transportation support with various vehicle types as required.
• Provide emergency medical response within training scope (CPR, AED, first aid).
• Report unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions.
• Mentor and develop security personnel; promote professionalism and continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties to support department objectives.
