Job summary

NMS is seeking a Remote Security Captain for the Kuparuk oil field in Alaska. You will supervise security staff, ensure adherence to client and company policies, and oversee security operations to protect personnel and critical infrastructure.

The role requires leadership experience, strong communication, and the ability to operate in remote conditions. You will participate in a two weeks on, two weeks off rotation, coordinating with clients and emergency responders as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Completion of at least two (2) years of post-secondary education is preferred. Candidates without post-secondary education must possess an additional two (2) years of directly related security, military, or law enforcement experience.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of full-time professional experience in security, law enforcement, or military service.
• Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory or leadership experience in a related field.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assign security personnel to posts and patrols with appropriate staffing and coverage.
• Supervise daily security operations to meet client requirements and contract SOPs.
• Interpret and enforce security policies, procedures, and contractual requirements.
• Develop understanding of client requirements and document business processes.
• Prepare employee work schedules and review leave requests.
• Maintain communication with clients to enhance service delivery and relationships.
• Review and resolve incident reports and other operational documentation.
• Oversee security-related investigations and determine corrective actions.
• Coordinate with client representatives, law enforcement, and emergency responders.
• Maintain post orders, emergency procedures, and documentation.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to issues outside normal hours.
• Serve as Incident Commander during emergencies as needed.
• Provide transportation services as required and medical response within training scope.
• Mentor and develop security personnel to promote professionalism and continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties to support departmental objectives.
