Job summary

NANA Regional Corporation seeks a Remote Security Captain to lead security services at the Kuparuk oil field. The role supervises personnel, ensures safety and policy compliance, and protects personnel and facilities in a remote Arctic environment.

The position operates on a two weeks on/ two weeks off rotation, with duties including incident response, client coordination, and reporting. Required are extensive security leadership experience and Alaska licensing readiness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, post-secondary education preferred.
• Minimum 10 years in security, law enforcement, or military service.
• 5+ years supervisory or leadership experience.
• Valid Alaska driver’s license with clean record for insurance eligibility.
• Ability to obtain Alaska Guard License and State Armed Guard License.
• Must pass pre-employment screenings and remote camp standards.

Responsibilities

• Assign personnel to posts and patrols with proper staffing.
• Oversee daily security ops and ensure client policy compliance.
• Enforce security policies, procedures, and contract requirements.
• Maintain understanding of client needs and document processes.
• Translate ops requirements into documented procedures.
• Prepare employee schedules and approve leave requests.
• Maintain client relations and address security concerns.
• Review and resolve incident reports and other docs.
• Complete required admin records and reports.
• Conduct investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Review reports on damage, incidents, and safety concerns.
• Coordinate with client reps, law enforcement, and regulators.
• Develop/update post orders and emergency procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotation; respond to issues after hours.
• Serve as Incident Commander or ICS lead during emergencies.
• Provide transportation using various vehicles as needed.
• Provide emergency medical response per training/certification.
• Report unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions.
• Mentor and develop security personnel; foster professionalism.
• Perform other duties to support objectives.
