Remote Security Lead — Field Ops & Incident Command

Job summary

NMS is seeking a Remote Security Sergeant to lead security operations at remote client locations, ensuring health, safety and client policy compliance. The role oversees staff, coordinates with agencies, and reports on incidents from a remote camp environment.

The position follows a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation, based at the Kuparuk Oil Field, and requires strong leadership, communication, and decision-making in high-stakes settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of full-time security, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean three-year history.
• Ability to obtain Alaska Guard License prior to start.
• Ability to obtain Alaska Armed Guard License on hire.
• Proficiency with MS Office and contract software.
• Ability to live in a remote camp environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily security operations and personnel on client facilities.
• Assign posts and patrols to maintain adequate staffing.
• Interpret and enforce security policies, procedures, and post orders.
• Maintain understanding of client needs and document processes.
• Translate needs into functional requirements and prepare docs.
• Prepare employee schedules and approve/deny leave requests.
• Maintain communication with clients to ensure safety and service.
• Review incident reports and take corrective actions.
• Administer reports, records, and related docs.
• Conduct security investigations as required.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency responders.
• Update post orders and procedures as needed.
• Serve in an on-call capacity during off-hours.
• Assume Incident Command when appropriate.
• Provide transportation using various vehicle types.
• Provide CPR/AED and patient movement within training scope.
• Support other operations and perform additional duties.
• Monitor safety and sanitation compliance and address deficiencies.
• Mentor and evaluate staff for performance and accountability.
