Job summary

Pearson seeks qualified scorers to evaluate teacher-licensure responses remotely for California subjects. You will apply scoring standards, participate in consensus scoring, and contribute to fair, high-quality assessments. Training is provided, with flexible hours.

Starting rate is $17.50 per hour. Scoring sessions run weekdays, remote work, with hours varying by subject and testing cycles. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications

• Resident of California with eligibility to work in the United States.
• Possess basic computer skills (keyboard, mouse).
• The ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• The ability to maintain a confidential work environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by California teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities.
• Recognize and discuss bias types and apply strategies to reduce personal bias in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test before scoring.
