Job summary

Pearson's Evaluation Systems is seeking qualified language scorers for CA languages (Spanish, Turkish) to work remotely. Candidates must be native speakers with a degree or appropriate credentials and meet California eligibility requirements.

Successful scorers participate in scoring sessions and maintain confidentiality while contributing to standardized testing quality. Starting rate is $17.50 per hour, with remote work ongoing.

Qualifications

• Native speaker of the language with a college/university degree
• OR hold a graduate degree in the appropriate language
• OR hold a Single Subject Teaching Credential in the appropriate language
• OR be a college or university educator who holds a degree in the language and/or has responsibility for teaching or advising students in that field
• OR have an authorization to teach the corresponding language in California public schools
• OR have served as a Single Subject Assessments for Teaching scorer in the appropriate language
• OR have served as a CTC-approved member of the appropriate CSET language test development and/or standard setting committee.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by California teacher candidates
• Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities
• Recognize and discuss various types of bias and effect strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring
• Meet quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test before scoring
• Starting rate of $17.50 per hour
• Working remotely
