Job summary

Pearson is seeking scoring assistants to evaluate Oklahoma exams remotely for our Sacramento, California office. You may be an active or recently retired educator who meets the qualification goals, with duties including evaluating responses and following scoring guides.

Sessions run Monday through Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm PST, with training and review included. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. Salary is $17.50 per hour and benefits information is available.

Qualifications

• Active or recently retired educators may be eligible if they meet the qualification goals.
• Hold a teaching credential corresponding to the content field, AND be teaching or have taught within the last three years at the appropriate grade level.
• Or serve or have served as a faculty member teaching courses taken by students enrolled in a teacher preparation program or district internship program.
• Or hold a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree AND be a graduate student currently teaching courses in the content field

Responsibilities

• Evaluates responses of teacher candidates.
• Successfully internalizes training and scoring guide.
• Participate in discussions.
• Must be able to put aside personal biases and apply scoring guide according to rubric requirements.
• Meets quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program.
• Engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities.

Education

Teaching credential / active or recently retired educator eligibility

Recent teaching experience

Faculty member experience in teacher prep or internship programs

Bachelor's or Master's with graduate student teaching
