Job summary

Pearson is seeking remote scorers to evaluate responses from New York teacher candidates as part of our licensure testing program. Scorers work remotely, starting at $17.50 per hour, with training and periodic scoring sessions.

Active teaching credentials or recent teaching in schools within the last three years are required, or equivalent content-area experience. Eligible to work in the United States and able to maintain confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Active teaching certification and recent school experience (within 3 years).
• Educators from colleges/universities with recent content-related teaching/advising experience may qualify.
• Degree in content area with recent professional employment in that field.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions from New York teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards and participate in consensus scoring discussions.
• Identify and discuss bias types and strategies to reduce bias in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements and pass a qualifying test before scoring.
• Score remotely with starting rate of $17.50 per hour.
