Job summary

Pearson is hiring remote scorers to evaluate teacher licensure responses. You will apply scoring standards, participate in discussions with peers, and ensure quality. Training is provided and sessions run weekdays with occasional schedules.

Starting rate is $17.50 per hour and work is conducted remotely from eligible U.S. locations. Prior teaching or content-area experience is highly valued, with flexible arrangements for active or recently retired educators.

Qualifications

• Current teaching certification in the subject area and currently teaching or taught within last three years.
• Or educators from colleges/universities who taught or advised a relevant field within last three years.
• Or hold a degree in the content area and have held professional employment in the content area within last three years.
• Active or recently retired practitioners can be eligible to score.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions for New York teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards and participate in consensus scoring discussions.
• Recognize bias types and discuss strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements and pass a qualifying test before scoring.
• Work remotely as part of the scoring program.
