Job summary

Pearson is hiring for an Associate, Scoring Services to remotely score CA teacher licensure responses for the Sacramento area. You’ll evaluate responses, discuss scoring standards with other scorers, and ensure alignment with California standards.

The role offers remote work with occasional on-site activities, requires CA teaching credentials or related qualifications, and pays $17.50 per hour. Training and orientation are provided, with ongoing opportunities in scoring and quality control.

Qualifications

• Residency in California with eligibility to work in the United States.
• Possess basic computer skills (keyboard, mouse)
• Ability to sit for extended periods
• Maintain a confidential work environment

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by California teacher candidates
• Internalize scoring standards and engage with scorers in consensus scoring
• Recognize and discuss bias and strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring
• Meet quality and productivity requirements for the scoring program
• Remote work with intermittent scoring sessions during weekdays

Teaching Credential in California

California institution of higher education teaching

Single Subject Assessments for Teaching scorer

CTC-approved scorer

Graduate degree in content field (CA resident)

Bachelor’s degree + several years’ professional experience (CA resident)

Bachelor’s or Master’s and currently teaching in CA

CTC-approved test development/standard setting panel member
