Job summary

Pearson is hiring for remote Associate, Scoring Services to evaluate responses from California teacher candidates for multiple languages. Training is provided and scoring sessions run on a scheduled basis from home.

The role focuses on applying scoring standards, participating in consensus scoring, and maintaining confidentiality. Applicants must meet language-specific qualifications and reside in California with work eligibility.

Qualifications

• Native speaker of the language with a college/university degree
• "OR" hold a graduate degree in the appropriate language
• "OR" hold a Single Subject Teaching Credential in the language
• "OR" be a college/university educator in the language field
• "OR" authorization to teach the language in California public schools
• "OR" have served as a Single Subject Assessments for Teaching scorer
• "OR" be a CSET language test development/standard setting committee member

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by California teacher candidates
• Internalize scoring standards and participate in discussions with scorers
• Recognize bias types and discuss strategies to reduce bias in scoring
• Meet quality and productivity requirements including passing a qualifying test
