Job summary

SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide. This remote role supports pre-commissioning and commissioning of network and communications for SCADA systems on US solar sites.

3–5 years of commissioning experience with solar PV, strong networking knowledge, and problem-solving skills are required; travel to job sites will be regular.

Qualifications

• This role requires 3–5 years of experience in commissioning utility-scale solar projects.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV, inverters, transformers and electrical infrastructure.
• Proficient in networking and communications.
• Proactive problem-solving mindset for issue resolution.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings/schematics.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; safety-focused.
• Familiarity with NFPA/NEC and IEEE/IES/API standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and implement site-specific commissioning plans and adhere to schedules.
• Coordinate with project teams including engineering, construction, QA, and SCADA to align on commissioning activities.
• Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning tests including performance, functional, and reliability testing of all communications systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure optimal SCADA and site communications performance.
• Prepare detailed commissioning reports documenting test results and corrective actions.
• Assist site personnel with Safety Tagging and Lockout/Tagout programs.
