Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a remote commissioning specialist to support pre-commissioning and commissioning of SCADA and site communications for utility-scale solar projects across the United States. The role involves coordinating with engineering, construction, and QA teams, performing tests, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of commissioning experience in solar power, strong networking knowledge, and excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers and electrical infrastructure.
• Extensive networking and communications systems know-how relevant to SCADA equipment and site networks.
• Experience with pre-commissioning and commissioning processes on utility-scale projects.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills with proactive issue resolution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for field reporting and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and implement site commissioning plans and schedules.
• Coordinate with project teams (engineering, construction, QA, SCADA) to align commissioning activities.
• Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning tests, including performance, functional and reliability testing of communications systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during commissioning to optimize SCADA and site communications.
• Prepare detailed commissioning reports documenting test results, issues and corrective actions.
• Improve commissioning processes by incorporating feedback from completed projects.
