Job summary

SMX is seeking a Data Integration Specialist to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines that connect client source financial systems to a new budgeting platform. This full-time, 100% remote role requires minimal travel and a Public Trust clearance.

You will work with SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA, and SAC to ensure secure, accurate data flows, while delivering documentation and performance tuning. 5+ years in data integration are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in a data integration, CDS View development, ETL development, or data engineering role.
• Proven proficiency in writing complex, optimized CDS, SQL and working with relational databases (e.g., SAP HANA, SQL Server, Oracle).
• Experience with loading data into models using SAC and S/4HANA Source System; knowledge of SAP Data Services, SAP BTP.

Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to extract financial data from source systems and load into the budgeting solution.
• Source System Analysis: Analyze data from SAP S/4HANA and other government financial systems to understand structures and business rules.
• Data Mapping & Transformation: Create mapping documents; write and run CDS views and SQL to transform and cleanse data.
• Data Quality Assurance: Implement data quality checks, validation, and reconciliation processes.
• Troubleshooting & Performance Tuning: Monitor jobs, troubleshoot failures, and optimize pipeline performance.
• Collaboration: Work with project managers, solution architects, and client SMEs.
• Documentation: Maintain data flow diagrams, integration specs, and SOPs.
