Job summary

SMX is seeking a Data Integration Specialist to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines connecting source financial systems to a new budgeting and forecasting platform. This full-time, 100% remote role requires US Citizenship for Public Trust clearance and minimal travel <20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP HANA, SAP S/4 HANA, SAP BW/4HANA and SAP BW.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in a data integration, CDS View development, ETL development, or data engineering role.
• Proven proficiency in writing complex, optimized CDS, SQL and working with relational databases (e.g., SAP HANA, SQL Server, Oracle).
• Experience with loading data into models using SAC and S/4HANA Source System. Experience with (e.g., SAP Data Services, SAP BTP).
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance which requires US Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to extract financial data and load into the budget solution.
• Source System Analysis: Collaborate with client stakeholders to analyze source data and understand data structures and business rules.
• Data Mapping & Transformation: Create and manage data mapping documents; write CDS views and SQL scripts to transform and validate data.
• Data Quality Assurance: Implement data quality checks and reconciliation processes to ensure data integrity.
• Troubleshooting & Performance Tuning: Monitor data jobs, troubleshoot failures, and optimize pipeline performance.
• Collaboration: Work with project managers, solution architects, and client SMEs to align design with goals.
• Documentation: Develop technical documentation, data flow diagrams, and SOPs.
