Job summary

SMX is seeking a Data Integration Specialist to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines connecting client financial systems to a new budgeting platform. This full-time, 100% remote role requires public trust clearance and up to 20% travel.

You will bridge raw financial data with actionable insights, leveraging ETL/ELT expertise and a deep understanding of SAP data structures to ensure secure, accurate data flows and compliant processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years hands-on experience in a data integration, CDS View development, ETL development, or data engineering role.
• Proficiency in writing complex CDS, SQL and working with relational databases (e.g., SAP HANA, SQL Server, Oracle).
• Experience with loading data into models using SAC and S/4HANA Source System; SAP Data Services, SAP BTP preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance (US Citizenship).

Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Development: design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for financial data.
• Source System Analysis: collaborate with stakeholders to understand data structures and rules.
• Data Mapping & Transformation: create mapping docs and write SQL/CDS for transformation.
• Data Quality Assurance: implement quality checks and reconciliation processes.
• Troubleshooting & Performance Tuning: monitor, debug, and optimize pipelines.
• Collaboration: work with project managers, architects, and SMEs to align design.
• Documentation: produce data flow diagrams and SOPs.
