Job summary

SMX seeks a Data Integration Specialist to design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines connecting client source financial systems to a new budgeting and forecasting platform. This 100% remote, full-time role requires deep technical ETL/ELT expertise and strong knowledge of SAP data models.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in data integration, CDS/SQL proficiency, and experience with SAC/SAP HANA/S/4HANA. Public Trust clearance and US Citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience with SAC, HANA, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA and BW.
• Data analytics, business intelligence, and reporting.
• Client-side JavaScript to enhance SAC functionality.
• Familiarity with SAC, BPC or BW-IP.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in a data integration, CDS View development, ETL development, or data engineering role.
• Proficiency in CDS, SQL and relational databases (e.g., SAP HANA, SQL Server, Oracle).
• Experience with loading data into models using SAC and S/4HANA Source System. Experience with SAP Data Services, SAP BTP.
• Strong communication skills.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance which requires US Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Develop, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to extract financial data from source systems and load into the budget solution.
• Analyze source data from systems like SAP S/4HANA to understand data structures and business rules.
• Create and manage data mapping, write CDS views, and SQL scripts to transform and validate data.
• Implement data quality checks, validation routines, and reconciliation processes.
• Monitor and optimize data integration jobs to meet SLAs and processing windows.
• Collaborate with project managers and SMEs to ensure alignment with goals.
• Create and maintain technical documentation including data flow diagrams and SOPs.
