Job summary

Rex.zone is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to design and implement software for autonomous systems, focusing on navigation, perception integration, and real-time performance across ROS/ROS2 stacks.

The role is fully remote, with responsibilities spanning localization, mapping, SLAM, and sensor fusion, plus simulation work using Gazebo/Isaac Sim. You will collaborate with ML teams to improve data quality and evaluation results, contributing to production-ready deployments.

Qualifications

  • Experience with ROS/ROS2 and robotics software development.
  • Strong knowledge of localization, mapping, and motion planning.
  • Experience with Gazebo or Isaac Sim for simulation.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain ROS2-based autonomy services for localization, mapping, and motion planning.
  • Integrate perception outputs into robust sensor fusion pipelines.
  • Develop SLAM and navigation components, tune parameters, and evaluate field performance.
  • Create simulation scenarios for regression testing using Gazebo/Isaac Sim and recorded bag data.
  • Define QA evaluation metrics for autonomy behaviors (success rate, collision rate, latency, drift).
  • Collaborate with ML/data ops to improve training data quality and annotation guidelines compliance.
