Job summary

Rex.zone is seeking a remote Robotics Engineer to design, implement, and validate software for autonomous and semi-autonomous robots. You will work with distributed teams, delivering ROS 2 features in C++ and Python, building perception pipelines, and validating SLAM, motion planning, and control systems.

The role emphasizes sensor calibration, metrics-driven performance improvements, and simulation-driven testing using Gazebo/Isaac Sim on Linux.

Qualifications

  • Mid‑Senior experience delivering robotics/autonomy software.
  • Strong production C++ and Python skills.
  • ROS/ROS 2 fundamentals (nodes, topics, TF, lifecycle, Nav2 or similar).
  • Hands‑on experience with sensors and calibration.
  • Ability to define metrics and drive measurable performance improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop robotics features using ROS 2 with C++ and Python.
  • Build perception pipelines with camera/LiDAR/IMU and sensor fusion.
  • Develop and tune SLAM/localization and mapping modules.
  • Implement motion planning, trajectory optimization, and collision checking.
  • Develop and validate control systems (PID, MPC, or similar).
  • Create simulation scenarios in Gazebo / Isaac Sim for reproducible testing.
  • Set up automated testing, QA evaluation, and regression/performance benchmarks.
  • Debug field issues using logs, telemetry, and reproducible test cases on Linux.
