Job summary

Rex.zone is seeking a mid- to senior- level Robotics Engineer to design and deploy autonomy software across perception, planning, and control. The role is remote, full-time, and involves developing software in ROS/ROS2, validating with simulation, and collaborating with hardware and QA teams.

You will work on navigation, obstacle avoidance, SLAM, and sensor fusion using camera, LiDAR, IMU, and testing pipelines.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering robotics features from prototype to deployment.
  • Strong C++ and Python skills with Linux development workflows.
  • Hands-on ROS/ROS2 experience (nodes, TF, messages, bagging, launch, parameters).
  • Foundations in kinematics, dynamics, and control (PID/MPC) and motion planning basics.
  • Experience with calibration, synchronization, debugging logs, profiling, and automated testing.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain robotic software modules (perception, planning, control) using ROS/ROS2.
  • Develop autonomy behaviors such as navigation, obstacle avoidance, and manipulation primitives.
  • Build perception pipelines with camera/LiDAR/IMU and sensor fusion.
  • Implement SLAM/localization and mapping workflows.
  • Use Gazebo/Isaac Sim for regression testing, scenario coverage, and sim-to-real iteration.
  • Create tooling for logging, metrics, dataset replay, and performance debugging.
  • Collaborate with hardware, QA, and product teams to deliver reliable robot releases and field updates.
